And it’s Thursday. So, combining the two, we get Scavenger Cake.
No, wait.
Photo Cake, that’s it!
The photo challenge this week is by me, which made the following silliness possible.
After last week’s theme set, Tamie took on the challenge of embodying the entire list in cake form. She bribed me into telling her the list-to-be by offering me cake. I caved instantly. (Duh. Chocolate. Cake.)
The list:
squares
shadow
teenagers
street sign
upside-down
orange
The cake:
All in one, with bonus chocolaty goodness! And click through for the annotated version, if you are so inclined.
That’s a dual-purpose cake, too: tomorrow is my birthday (but I’m NOT going to the office). Tamie not only made me a scavenger cake, she provided office goodies!
Magnetic office poetry – hours of procrastination.
The metal doorframe was the most appealing surface, but they’ll probably end up on the file cabinet eventually.
I got right to work with it, labeling my office appropriately.
We censored the set. Some things just should not be contemplated.
She got me magnetic whiteboard pens too – office supplies! In color! Joy!
I’m going to do a proper photo set too, once I can find something for upside-down. Whose bright idea was that, anyway? Oh, yeah. I found the rest on my way to work this morning, and will post them by next Thursday. Maybe.
But for now me and my sugar high had better get back to work.

Dang it, my teens just left. (The youngest and his GF.) I’ll have to find appropriate substitute teens. Thanks for the challenge!
CAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKEEEEE!
And I am working on your birthday–and mine. :)
I’m loving it!
I am thinking we need to collaborate more often!
Wait, it’s Michelle’s b-day? :( And I FORGOT? I will have to belatedly celebrate the heck out of it when she’s here!
Also, I may defer the scavenger hunt until tomorrow when I will be SAILING. With teenagers. That would be a very cool themed scavenger hunt, especially navigational aid ‘street signs’. (In particular there’s a great one about 3 knots & torpedoes & such at Keyport!)
Or maybe I’ll do it twice!
Well, hell. If we’d have known early enough we could have made plans to come see you. Anyway, I hope your birthday is awesome. :-)
And Phiala: happy birthday to you! And many, many more. My friend Jason’s b-day is today, and on his FB wall (which is visible to many colleagues) I wished him “Happy fucking birthday, dude!” It was very appropriate to his personality – but somehow it doesn’t fit you quite as well.
Yep, Michelle’s birthday and mine! I worked on my birthday last year, so this year I’m taking a day off and making an extra-long weekend of it.
Tamie: collaborate more? So about this paper we’re supposed to be working on… And that other one too. We can plan it out on the whiteboard with my new pens.
Jeri, I would love to be going sailing tomorrow. I think that’s a great place for the scavenger hunt.
Nathan, you’d be loving it even more if you had yummy cake like me.
Busy tonight!
Dan, I would love to see you and Toni, and we’ll definitely have to get together again sooner than later. But I’m going to be out of town this weekend anyway.
Thank you Jeri! “Happy fucking birthday” is a perfectly reasonable wish, it’s just the “dude” part that doesn’t fit me so well. :)
